The world is full of chaos. Technology has us constantly connected and always providing some new story for us to be excited about. Home has increasingly become a place where we need to cultivate peace and stillness. Sometimes we just need to escape the chaos and reset. This family home in Essex was designed for just that.

This home was created as family getaway a generation ago. Places like this are special. Not just because of the expansive views, but because of the space inside that this family shares together. Creating the memories of a lifetime. Often times, family getaways are the only quality time we spend with the people we hold closest to our hearts. And that time is precious.

The main floor has an open concept, to maximize the amount of time the family can spend together. Cottage style windows keep the classic New England feel, without interrupting the view of the Essex River. The kitchen was designed to be large enough to fit multiple people cooking, without being separated from the rest of the group. 

Even though we may not always acknowledge it, the spaces that we share with our family are incredibly important. And should be treated as such. It’s so easy to settle into a space and not make it exactly what we need. We put off projects until later, because there is always something else to do. There are always parties to attend and errands to run. Now is a time to focus on your home and your family. To hold your loved ones close and be grateful for the space in our lives.
